The East Midlands RPRA Regional Awards took place on Saturday 5th, February and disappointingly the recipients of the major class award were unable to attend and collect their trophy in person from the Region President through ill health
The Trophy in question was the most impressive cup for winning class 3; namely the best performance into the East Midlands for over 450 miles, and I hope the picture below does the trophy justice
The East Midlands RPRA Regional Awards
East Midlands Old Bird Challenge Trophy 450 miles
The gallant pigeon nominated for this award is a 2007 dark chequer cock, that took 2nd Open from Bordeaux at the end of July 2010 in the British Barcelona Club race, flying on full widow-hood ~ 514 miles in thirteen and a quarter hours at a velocity of 1142, and now named ‘Leather’
"Leather" - winner of the 450 mile class at
RPRA East Midlands Awards
Although unable to attend the Regional AGM and collect the presentation ~ work with one of the partners and ill health with the other preventing either partner from making the journey ~ we have still managed to catch them at home proudly displaying the awards.
